Scanner Art

Our assignment for this image was to scan multiple images onto the computer, then crop each of them and place it together forming one image. In this photo, I used a flute, two belts, a hat, and a poster. This picture was scanned in the morning. I used the scanner in the multi media lab. We wanted to create scanner art in order to imitate work done by Sonia Landy Smith. This image shows line, which is created by the flute and the belts. The flute has vertical lines within each section. The belts create a border, which therefore shows both vertical lines and horizontal lines. Unity can also be seen by the way each individual component comes together in order to create one complete image. The belts create the border. The spots from the hat bring in color. The flute provides the image with a center point. The poster brings everything together as a whole. Texture can be seen by the way the belts have weaving. Each layer overlaps one another.
