Elements of Design

Our second assignment was taking photos focusing on the elements of design. This image that I have taken is of three flowers. I took this picture at Gellert Park. I used the portrait setting on my camera so that it would enable me to get close to the flowers without my final product coming out blurry. Color can be seen in this photo because the flowers are bright pink which makes the mood euphoric. Texture can also be seen by this photo because of the water droplets on the flowers. I took this picture right before sunset, but ironically I just happen to come across these flowers. This also shows asymmetry because the largest flower is not centered, but on a third line. It also shows emphasis because there is one flower that is larger than the other two which therefore makes the eye automatically focus on this flower rather than the other two. Another way the emphasis is given is by the depth of field. The other two flowers have a stronger depth of field which makes them appear blurry. This blurriness creates negative space, while the flower in focus creates positive space.
